On January 14th-15th, 2015, the BILAT USA 2.0 project welcomed EU and U.S. policymakers and stakeholders to Brussels to the EU-U.S. Innovation Conference, organised by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency, FFG.
Horizon 2020 is the European Union's main instrument for funding research and innovation activities over the next seven years (2014 to 2020). It focuses on three overarching priorities – excellent science, industrial leadership and societal challenges, and is due to be launched by the end of 2013.
The workshop will present H2020 opportunities for researchers and innovators as well as promote opportunities for US researchers.
The workshop at Florida International University will present the variety of Horizon 2020 and its funding possibilities for US Researchers.
An event jointly sponsored by BILAT USA 2.0 and the European and Eurasian Studies Program and co-sponsored by DLR, FIU Biomolecular Sciences Institute, Global Health Consortium and FIU College of Engineering and Computing.
The BILAT USA 2.0 workshop ´EU-U.S. and International Cooperation´ aims to support the exchange of knowledge on European and U.S. cutting edge research and innovation capacities on the following specific topics of the Nanotechnology based on the (draft) work programme 2016-2017 of the H2020:
The B·Debate Brain Health. From Genes to Behaviour, Improving Our Lifes – jointly organized with the Guttmann Institute has as a main objective to identify factors that affect the brain in order to be able to understand and quantify this organ, and even get to modulate it.

Research and innovation cooperation between countries can help solve common problems, address grand societal challenges and build constructive international partnerships.
