A review of EU-U.S. S&T Relations between 2003-2008 prepared by Manfred Horvat and Keith A. Harrap (January 2009)
The science counselors of the Member States and the European Commission based in Washington D.C. (referred to in this note as EU science counselors) launched an initiative, under the Czech Presidency of the European Union, aimed at sharing information on their respective activities with a view to developing potential synergies of mutual benefits. The purpose of this report is to present the outcomes of this exercise.
Conclusions of the ERA Conference 2009
The present publication is the report of the Expert Group chaired by Professor Rémi Barré. Combining economic and statistical expertise, the group presents a comprehensive and flexible framework for an evidence-based monitoring of progress towards the European Research Area.
The report describes the intricate mechanisms to come to decisions on the form and contents of a framework programme. The report was written by Dan Andrée, Special Adviser at the Swedish Ministry for Education and Research.
This Report, written jointly by the Technopolis Group and the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (The University of Manchester), seeks to understand what policy considerations are made when establishing and implementing science, technology and innovation (STI) linkages with other countries. The report reviews the various drivers behind international STI co-operation and explores the interactions between these drivers.
Exploring synergies through coordinating policy measures between the EU Member States, Associated Countries and the European Commission.
The report summarises a dedicated part of work addressing the coordination of policy measures between the Member States, Associated Countries and the European Commission in variable geometries undertaken in year 2008 by the CREST OMC Working Group on “Internationalization of R&D –Facing the challenge of globalization: Approaches to a Proactive International Policy in S&T”.
The Commission presents a strategic plan to accelerate the development and deployment of cost-effective low carbon technologies. This plan comprises measures relating to planning, implementation, resources and international cooperation in the field of energy technology.
