Your role in the project:
Principal Investigator/Coordinator of Wright State University component of Citypulse project
Assessment of your participation:
We think our participation has enriched the project substantially, just as our participated has benefitted us. Activities and outcomes have involved:
- advancing research that involved numerous technical exchanges
- access to (and participating in) developing (mostly open source) data, software prototypes and application scenarios,
- medium term student exchange (4 months) and short term faculty visits (more planned in remainder of the project)
- high quality publications and other significant dissemination (e.g. joint tutorials, invited talks),
- developing plans for follow on collaborations, etc.
We are delighted to be part of this project, even though there is not much funding other than travel for our participation. I think NSF/NIH and EU should allow for more direct funding in such collaboration because lots of prior and ongoing research and development from national (e.g. US) projects can be leveraged and will benefit international collaborations.
